The DIRHAM Design Concept

“A Bridge To The Past”

Our much awaited 2012 1 World 10 Dirham coin seeks to amalgamate a modern yet ancient feel to a
dirham design. It is an artistic expression that seeks to capture a forgotten, yet glorious historical era and translates the sentiment into a much desired silver coin

On the Obverse, we retained the timeless beauty of Islamic geometric design, bejeweled in the centre in Arabic stylized calligraphy is “Bismillahirrahmanirrahim” which means “In The Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful”, with which each sura of the Quran begins.

This centerpiece is then balanced with the minting date of the coin (2012) in Arabic. An intricate piece of artwork that is still much to be admired

On the reverse, it depicts a three dimensional traditional globe, with the phrase “1 World, May Peace Be Upon Our Planet” embedded within, thus perpetuating our call for world peace through men’s exchange of our dirham over the next millennia.

This 2012 1 World 10 Dirham coin is themed “A bridge to the past”, a reminder that throughout history, silver has never lost its intrinsic value and have been the most common and universally recognized form of true money, a stable measure of value
